Quotation of the Week

Of the Seven Deadly Sins, anger is possibly the most fun. To lick your wounds, to smack your lips over grievances long past, to roll over your tongue the prospect of bitter confrontations still to come, to savor to the last toothsome morsel both the pain you are given and the pain you are giving back—in many ways it is a feast fit for a king. The chief drawback is that what you are wolfing down is yourself. The skeleton at the feast is you.

  1. Mixed feelings about the quote.

Letting go of anger and hurt and eventually being reconciled is the heart of it.

But I think anger–in the meantime–may have its uses.

  2. I visited your blog today from Kingdom Grace’s post, Missional Mommies. Today, I wrote about this quote as I am dealing with someone in my life who has devoured herself with anger and unforgiveness. I am seeing the results amplified and am broken by the little things I have left unresolved in my own heart.
